Preppie Alligator Tee White

The idea for the “JG-CS06 Preppie Alligator Tee” comes from an Ivy League college shirt from the 1980s. John Gluckow bought it from his favorite vintage dealer and has owned it for many years.

The special jersey is produced on rare circular knitting machines from the 1920s to the 1960s in Wakayama, Japan. Cotton yarns of varying thicknesses are processed under low tension to create a loose, textured jersey. Today there are only about 400 of these looms left.
