Kakishibu Sashiko Denim Jacket

In the past, cotton was too valuable in Japan to simply discard. Kimonos were worn day after day – through winter, summer, rain, and heat. And when they wore out, they were repaired. Again and again. Sashiko emerged from this attitude: artistic stitching that held garments together and made them even more beautiful.

Studio D'Artisan brings back exactly this feeling with its "Sashiko Denim" collection. The texture is reminiscent of hand-embroidered repair work, woven on a specially calibrated jacquard loom.

A special twist: Kakishibu. Fermented juice from Japanese persimmons, rooted in culture since the 13th century – as a wood varnish, in sake production, even as a household remedy. Here, it meets denim, creating a unique tone.
