Parachute Cloth Silk Scarf

Discarded parachute cloth was used to make scarves for pilots who flew in open cockpits. The smooth silk kept out the cold and protected them during frequent head movements. It was used to wipe fogged-up glasses, windshields and instruments during the flight and was therefore an indispensable accessory for every pilot. Buzz Rickson's "Parachute Cloth Silk Scarf" is a successful replication.
