The "B-15C" marks an important step in the development of functional flight clothing. With its introduction, the series was consistently developed further and the design was adapted to the needs of the pilots without giving up the tried and tested details.
Compared to the previous model "B-15B", the zipper, which was previously slightly offset, was moved to the middle - a change that laid the foundation for the later, iconic design of the "MA-1". At the same time, the "B-15C" was the first jacket in the series to be made entirely of nylon - a material that was significantly lighter and more practical than the fabrics previously used.
Characteristic details such as the leather flap on the chest, the side loops for oxygen mask tubes and communication cables, and the wide knitted cuffs were retained. The distinctive fur collar provided warmth and gives the jacket its unmistakable look to this day.
The idea for an all-black collection was inspired by Buzz Rickson's fictional black MA-1 jacket, which the science fiction author designed for his protagonist in his book "Pattern Recognition". Buzz Rickson's brought the never-before-seen jacket to life and laid the foundation for the unique militaria collaboration "Type Black".
