William Gibson Type B-9 Black

The black "Type B-9" from Buzz Rickson's X William Gibson collection is based on the winter model introduced between 1943 and 1944. Its predecessor, the sheepskin B-7, was replaced by the B-9 during World War II as the number of soldiers increased and mouton became increasingly difficult to obtain.
The idea for an all-black collection was inspired by Buzz Rickson's fictional black MA-1 jacket, which the science fiction author designed for his protagonist in his book "Pattern Recognition". Buzz Rickson's brought the never-before-seen jacket to life and thus laid the foundation for the unique militaria collaboration "Type Black".
