The black "BR14975 Combat Tropical Jacket" is part of the Buzz Rickson's x William Gibson collection and was developed in 1962 specifically for use by the US armed forces in Vietnam.
Made from ultra-tightly woven, extremely durable yet super-lightweight cotton poplin, it is ideal for places with high humidity and temperatures. Functional pockets provide space for organized storage.
She became world famous through Robert Duvall's role as Lt. Colonel Bill Kilgore in Francis Ford Coppola's war epic "Apocalypse Now".
The idea for an all-black collection was inspired by Buzz Rickson's fictional black MA-1 jacket, which the science fiction author designed for his protagonist in his book "Pattern Recognition". Buzz Rickson's brought the never-before-seen jacket to life and thus laid the foundation for the unique militaria collaboration "Type Black".
